Personal preferences. I very much dislike the suburbs and areas in CT and the Hamptons. I live in纽约with a family and wouldn't trade it for a Greenwich. But I can also afford纽约有一个家庭和随之而来的所有费用，我宁愿走下去纽约街道比CT海滩（或高尔夫球场）。
Some people love the slower lifestyle, the more space that comes with the suburbs, the quieter streets and bike rides their kids can take (good public schools, golf courses, sailing, etc). I am just not one of those people, but I completely understand that view.

I love living in the city but CT has that pristine, clean nature that's hard to come by in the city. You don't see big heaps of trash on the sidewalk or come across questionable smells in Fairfield County. Granted you can get the same experience in Westchester, etc. CT may be "boring" but it's certainly a breath of fresh air.
Everyone in the suburbs I have met has done more drugs in high school than anyone in纽约, minus some club kids in the 90s. Now I caught up in college and then some, but I spent my high school very regimented in纽约，就像6：30醒来一样，7：30火车，上午8:30，下午2:30解雇，下午5:30 Sports-8：30pm回家，晚餐，然后是HW。在这种气氛中很难随便做毒品。周末很有趣。
