I didn't particular feel that I needed them. I got a newer model Fitbit but return it pretty quickly. It doesn't really track calories burned accurately (why I wanted it) and I didn't see much use for it besides checking my heart rate. Its probably useful if you are runner and want to track how much you ran and other. I take my phone with me everywhere so basically didn't see a purpose for needing an extra device when I have my phone.

No particular perception at all these days. The days of a watch culture are pretty much over on the street (and this is coming from a diehard watch guy) so an Apple watch, for example, will have essentially zero effect on your perception

Agree, apple watches have no character. Women find men instantly more attractive that have a real watch, especially a complicated diver or chronograph. It screams "masculine"
