Hedge Fund Women's Attire
I'm a recent grad and will be starting as a research analyst at anNYChedge fund in a few months. I'm having a hard time figuring out what kind of attire would be appropriate (assuming offices reopen by then). Would love to hear from some of the other ladies on here on what brands/items they like for work.
A couple specific questions -
* Are jeans/sneakers off-limits?
* What kind of shoes are appropriate? (are gucci or ferragamo loafers too "flashy" for a first year?)
* Are there brands you would recommend for a "work bag?"
Thank you in advance!

Hi emily k, don't worry, the WSO Monkey Bot is here.... I'm hoping one of these links will help find your answer:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
I used to work for a US hedge fund in London, in an investment team on a private equity side.
I wore:
- dresses from LK Bennett (the most conservative ones)
- blouse and trousers combinations (Reiss, LK Bennett)
- suits (various)
- tweed jackets and trousers / skirts
Jeans and sneakers were off-limits but London is more conservative. Flashy shoes seemed inapporpriate for a junior analyst.
In terms of bags, I would get something like a "shopping bag" from Saint Laurent in black or dark grey, the model with no embellishments. Or Celine trio bag in small size and then have a separate canvas bag (Longchamp or similar) for research, notebooks and my laptop.
