Opportunistic Credit in Europe

Hi All,

Keen on credit funds that are playing across the capital structure and can look at things from an opportunistic perspective and are more flexible with capital allocation than basic and boring CLOs - not necessarily distressed but possibly risker kind of debt (PIK, unsecured)

Few of the guys that come in mind (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Albacore

  • Alcentra

  • Arcmont

  • CPPIB

  • GSO

  • HayFin

  • ICG

  • Oaktree

  • PIMCO

I am particularly interested in Albacore - does anyone know who their recruiter is? Any view on their rep?

Keen also to hear. What's people's thoughts on Albacore and Hayfin in particular? Have seen them in the news a fair bit lately

Albacore seem to have nailed it last year to be fair. Hayfin seems to be doing well - but there is never a thing on what they invest into. I would guess would by loans / bonds trading at 80 cts where there is a solid security so not much downside but only upside from a risk return. Still impressive however.
