'Everyday' Dress Watch - Tissot Gentleman?

So, bonus season is coming up shortly. I don't have my numbers yet but I'm sure that I'm going to have a decently sized bonus. I'm generally a 'spend the base, save the bonus' type guy so I don't plan on doing anything insane, but I do like to get myself a little present each year as a reward for another year of work.

I'm also a bit of a watch guy. For the most part it's more budget automatics like a SKX-009 'Pepsi' for daily-wear around the office, a Nezumi Voture for driving around, a Swatch Sistem 51 and Seiko 6105 for other random things, etc. From there I actually have a monstrous jump to a 60 year old NIB Seamaster that I'm just scared to wear given its condition.

Looking at this list recently, I realized that I've got a gaping hole in my collection for an 'everyday' dress watch for slightly formal events. I'm mostly buy-side, so I don't need to really impress anybody. (I don't go to Goldman, they send people to visit me) However I'd like a watch nicer than the Pepsi when I'm being taken out to nicer dinners or going to award celebrations and need to put on a suit.

I don't really need any complications, even a date window can be optional, although I'd like something nice, understated and automatic. Because of this I've begun eyeballing the Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 as an option. From online photos and videos it looks nice on a leather band, the 80 hour reserve seems like a nice bonus, and it seems modestly priced for what you get. I'm obviously going to try one one and see how it sits the next time I'm at their boutique near work, but I thought I might as well ask for general opinions on it and other similar suggestions. My budget isn't set in stone, but this feels like a comfortable price-point for me.

Thoughts?

作为一个年轻的银行家,I believe that is definitely a fine watch for a formal occasion. I also recommend a Rado watch. About the same price range, maybe slightly higher.

I have a Tissot Couturier that I use for everything, from weddings to wearing it to the beach. Super versatile, gets complements, not overly flashy.

What's your budget?

Edit - just saw that your budget isn't set in stone. Considering you'll end up paying around 800 for the tissot, I'd actually spring the extra 200-300 for a Longines. I bought a piece from the Presence collection (~1000 all in from tourneau) as my first big watch purchase after my first year analyst bonus (let's leave out whether that was smart lol as I've loved watches) and they're solid pieces with great movements and timeless looks.

I will suggest something different, you seem to buy alot of midrange watches. If i were you i'd put some money aside and invest in a nice watch, i.e. an IWC Portfino, etc.

I have the tissot chemin des tourelles powermatic 80 and absolutely love it. Wear it every day and get a lot of compliments. Its similar to the gentleman but a bit nicer strap and simpler face in my opinion
