I think you need to be more specific if u want answers. London is the biggest european financial place, probably the 2nd worldwide, there are dozens of greatHFs。

I'm targeting multi strategy rn, haven't really considered being a PM but don't have a problem with it. My plan towork forBBI'm in right now with a good track record for a couple of years (4-6 years) then move to a hedge fund for experience (2-4 years) then hopefully start my own fund before I'm around 35. (The reason I'm planning to spend a long time working before is to make a good record and because I'm onvisa right nowand it will take some time till i get my citizenship which will be helpful)
Ok, I guess than that big names are the best to have visibility and attract future clients. A few big names out of my mind:

在HFsmost of the time "trader" means execution trader, so not the job you want to do to launch your fund. The PM are the ones deciding which positions to take. Analysts can have a certain degree of freedom and run their own books too sometimes.
I wish you the best but launching your fund without being a PM is almost impossible. Launching before 35 too, launching alone too.
You need a good and long track record, so I would say 5y being a PM in a tier 1HFis the bare minimum. But equally if not more important you need to know investors to raise money.

Well I don't know his life by heart but a few things :
I worked for aHFfunded by ex prop traders at a bank. They told me what they used to do and they never received a single client order, they were litteraly given a risk limit and could do whatever they wanted. I am not sure that job still exist in banks. Might be wrong though as I have never worked in a bank. Since 2008 I think prop trading inside banks has changed to say the least.
