Am I screwed for ib roles?
I am going to be entering my sophomore at NYU stern and I currently have no real finance internships under my belt. I know that sophomore year is where I apply for junior yearsapositions during my second semester. I am planning on doing a school year internship in the fall and hopefully in the spring as well if I can find one. My gpa is 3.9 plus but without any real finance experiences going into sophomore year and as an Asian male, is it too late for me to possibly place in aBBor top EB?

Yeah bro ur screwed with a 3.9 at a target going into sophomore year. If this is a legit post you're gonna be screwed based on your EQ
Hey man I'm sorry if this comes across as a shirpost or something but I'm rly serious. I have heard how competitive it is to secureibstuff and without anything major for my freshman year summer I was just worried.
your fucking retarded bro. holy shit lol
Yo whats your name I'm gnna make sure myEBblacklists you goddamn
Bro ur fine stfu freshman summer don't matter trust. My sternie boys just network that shit and get superdays. Just network and study and don't fuck up and you'll get offer
Lol, I did all that and still ain't got shit.
Sounds like a you problem
No-one gonna give a shit about freshman summer internships as most ppl do bs things for their freshman summer. Prob should spend more time networking and, if possible, take advantage of some of the diversity programs out there. Shit ain't easy these days for non-diversity ppl regardless of target (myBBfilled up theSAclass with ~75% diversity candidate)
Attend Stern and was in a similar position and came out with multiple offers. You forget we're at a target school and you have a good gpa. Dont stress too much and just focus on the aspects you can control.
Also, not to be insensitive but reading this post does sound like a shitpost. If you're worried now quite literally touch grass (stop thinking aboutIBso much). After going through the process it gets so much worse self doubt wise than it is in freshman year so the best solution is to just get offWSOand spend time doing things you like this summer
just grind on those technicals, get a hopefullysmall boutiqueibinternshipfor the fall or spring in ur soph year and hit recruiting hard in sophomore spring semester
Get a part-time internshipat a lower middle marketbank during first semester. If you start emailing now you can find something. They won't pay you, but it will be easy work and will build your resume.
Got it thanks for your help man. If I may as a follow up question, do you have any advice on how to present myself to them without prior bank experience. Should I just acknowledge it upfront and say I'm really looking for my first opportunity
No dude. I went to Stern UG years ago and didn't give a shit about any of that stuff until junior year. Like someone else said, go touch grass
Agree with everyone else, get some sort of part time fall internship and you are totally good. Should be pretty easy to find inNYC
Make sure you're involved in other things around campus and your resume isn't all finance. join a few non finance clubs and have other interests/things to talk about, at a target that is equally or more important than a few random internships
Why would you post the same thing twice? Are you bragging about you going to stern mr target guy?
