RBC IBD NY M&A vs Tech
How is the Tech group doing / what are the potential exit opps intoPEor VC? I've heard that theM&Agroup has the best exit opps, but I'm more interested in Tech.

It will be tough getting anywhere fromRBC.
Why so? I'm not be frivolous, by the way. Genuinely wondering.
That's bullshit, I've seen manyRBCtechIBDanalysts move to some of the top growth equity shops. I'd argue thatMMIBDanalysts fit better with a lot of growth equity shops considering the deals you'll most likely work on are smaller.
Are you interested in tech? If yes, do tech!
you will be doing a significant amount of co managed equity stuff and pitching in tech. that being said, if you are interested in tech, and know you want to work in tech long-term, go for it. Deal experience and your modeling skillset will not be comparable
What would some of these funds be? I only see news on megafunds.

I have nothing againstRBC, orMMbanking. I thinkRBChas a very unique culture with great people, great pay, but it's just not where you go if you're looking for solidPEexits. Always be skeptical when you're talking to current employees, because most of the time you won't get an objective opinion.
Does the Tech group typically do most of theM&Aas it is pretty different?
how is it different? Tech modeling is pretty easy and I work in a tech group and have done deals across several other industries.
从我读,重视早期技术比较anies can require different multiples to capture potential earnings later on. I'm just curious to know if theM&Agroup will do most of the transaction, or if the coverage group will be deeply involved in the work.
Are you interviewing or have you already accepted an offer?
I have received an offer and I am now trying to decide whether to accept vs. risk trying to get into aBBwith a later recruiting cycle.
If this is your only offer, accept it. Not to sound condescending or anything, but I am amazed at how college students are willing to risk not getting aSAorFTposition just for thatBBname. Yes, aBBwill set you up with better exits, butRBC(or anything "lesser" than a BB) is still better than nothing. Worst case scenario: you accept theRBCoffer, you hate it atRBC, and then you lateral. Not exactly the end of the world.
Just trying to put things into perspective. Good luck.
