The Elitest Boutique
Doesn't even need to correlate with deal flow! I'm talking hype, history, exclusivity, salary, logo, even the way the name rolls off the tongue. What is the bougiest institution on wall street?

Haha, this stuff gets me rolling, I'll bite.
1)PJT- most prestigious
2)Rothschild- most hallowed
3)Evercore- most recognized
4)Centerview- most hyped
5)FTPartners- $$))
(PWPisn't exclusive, it's way overrated)
Solid call with Rothschild. There's definitely something revered about their overall vibes and history/founders.
Met a MD there who said he sometimes gets questions from clients if some of the Rothschild conspiracy theories are true, like if they're the illuminati.
yep this THIS. i think many kids don't know of the history tho, i mentioned in my Roths CL how i was rlly hooked on the Rothschild history and theories since age 13 (which is true) but seniors and peers in the finance club laughed and told me to remove that

Also, I'm not sure hallowed carries any weight in finance. I wouldn't give business to something because 200 years ago they were great.
Are you inIBin the US, though? Americans give no shits about anything that happened 200 years, the whole country was barely even a thing way back then.
Europeans, meanwhile, lap that shit up.
Lazard and PWP are much better than half of these
Most prestigious in history: Dutch East India Company
Stretching the definition of "boutique" a bit, aren't you? They alone were responsible for more than half of the trade between Europe and Asia in the 1600s.
The OGBB
I'm not quite certain a company that at one point kept a larger standing army than imperial Britain, controlled the globaleconomy, and declared multiple wars on China - and won - can be classified as a boutique.
Definitely elite though, 100% would've accepted anSAoffer at VOC.
Lazard and Rothschild, especially in Europe.
I'd also throw in Qatalyst for all the tech deals
Is this a joke? Next question.
($140k as an1 btw)
Clicked on this thread and scrolled waiting to find just this comment lol
艾伦和公司
Yessir, if we place the heaviest weight in台湾海陆运输公司.
Above Q?
I'd go in this order (in terms of prestige and branding): Centerview > Evercore > Lazard > PJT >Moelis-> Qatalyst/Jefferies> Rothschild >Greenhill>FTPartners
Sorry to hear you didn't get an offer at Q
How the fuck does CVP rank over PJT? PJT RSSG is singlehandedly the most prestigious group on the street rn. None of the CVP groups come close lol
RSSG is just one group, this is an aggregate ranking. CVP has the least employees, has advised on the biggest deals historically, and is inarguably the hardest to break into
Dude who gives a fuck about PJT RSSG? Ask any MD inIBorPEand they will say that Evercore and CVP (especially Evercore) are more prestigious than PJT
Lazard and Rothschild are the two super historic boutiques. Allen & Co is also very old and influential behind the scenes. BBH too, but they don't doIBanymore.
Lazard got to be the top boutique given age, current prestige and group quality across the board.
Qatalyst is the only bank where 2nd year associates make 7 figures. They also have the most rigorous recruiting process out of any bank
That was 2021. Don't think it'll be quite as high this year. But agreed, Qatalyst is the highest paying bank by far and deserve to be mentioned
Second year associates made $1m?
Lazard and Centerview probably. Maybe some of the boutiques whose websites are only the company logo and a couple sentences like Gordon Dyal and M. Klein & Co
Of course, FTP (140k base and 3.5 undergrad GPA minimum for summerMBAassociates)
Highest base on the street is very elite no matter what people say (140k base)
M. Klein GPA cut off for interns is 3.7 lol... Source: roommate works there
风笛手Sandler and Stifelshould definitely be on the list
For Chemicals, definitely. Their respective practice is top-notch.
How's their rx?
Why? I'm curious
Moelis - given that it was founded by King Ken
Perella and Lazard are two of the best banks, the first post is flat out wrong
You guys are all clowns with this ranking garbage. None of it matters. Go outside. This is dumb
How bout the dudes at (Dyal/Ducera/LT) clearing 200k+
Extremely underrated - would consider Dyal / Klein / Robey, as well as LionTree / Allen, to be elite pure play boutiques.
M. Klein pay is strong.. top of street and inline with first yearPEassociates at middle markets (source: roommate who works there and I never see b/c hours are insane)
Additionally, I doubt that "hallowed" has any significance in money. I wouldn't support something just because they were successful 200 years ago.
Allen & Co
Brown Brothers Harriman
M. Klein is highly underrated. My buddy's cousin worked there for 2 years and her experience was strong. Heard she met/worked with some global heavy hitters..Larry Summers, Yasir Al-Rum (PIF head), Tony Blair... i understand they are on the firm's advisory board.
Comp was materially above market back in 2019 - not sure what is now. Deal flow is insane, mostly all headline deals and get to work on investing too. Apparently travel globally for work, Saudi, Russia, Argentina. Fly first class. 3x meals covered in the office.
Surely Evercore globally? In Europe, Lazard and Rothschild.
I work at anEBthat is popping up in a lot of these comments. Unfortunately "prestige" doesn't win mandates unless you'reGS/MS.
We lose plenty of pitches to "less prestigious" banks.
