Air Canada has, by far, the shittiest website of any airline. It constantly times out, you can never get one of those French Canadians on the phone if you actually need help, the deal codes only work a handful of times. I hate that they sometimes have the best deals on some international flights, because I have to deal with so much bullshit if there's a single little problem. Stick to maple syrup up there.

Is an international-to-US connection through Toronto Pearson lasting only 55 min possible with only carryon and Global Entry? Has Air Canada fucked me yet again?

It might be tight but doable depending on date and time of day. They brought back mandatory testing for non-US arrivals at Pearson. In the past, this created massive backlogs and general chaos for everything else.

After almost 3 hours of being on hold, I was able to get the flight changed to something to more reasonable. The customer service rep (an actual Canadian) was very helpful and able to figure out the flights I needed (I found alternatives on the site, but had to search as new flights because the site wasn't letting me directly change my flights, hence the call).

Toronto is one of about 3-4 Canadian airports (also Nassau maybe?) that has a US customs facility meaning you have to clear US immigration prior to your flight, so absolutely not enough time (at least pre covid, not sure if it's changed).

These fuckers bait and switched me again, now I have a 6 and a half hour layover in Toronto, and the website is just as fucked.
