bad review from client
嘿,我在这里寻找一些帮助关于to how I should move forward in my current situation.. I started working at a boutique consultant firm end of May being one of there youngest new hires they brought on.. After being on the bench for about 3 weeks my MD staffed me on a project with a large biotech company. So I saw this as a golden opportunity to really impress my firm and do good work. After about 2 months on this project I noticed that my client started to become really aggressive on my deliverables and wanted me to execute in a short amount of time. After I tried to explain to my client that some of these deliverables aren't achievable due to data not being available or having to get clarification from different teams in the company, they got mad and ostracized me from key meetings with upper management.. This past Friday I got an email from my MD stating that the client has flagged me through there external worker program and that we need to talk right away. Essentially after are conversation he told me I better not lose this client and has paired me up with a more senior consultant at my client base... so I'm looking for feedback in two areas right now.. 1) How do I deal with this difficult client situation moving forward? I'm staffed on the project until end November - maybe December. 2) If I really blow it and lose the client, is my firm going to can me?... probably already know the answer to question 2, but nevertheless looking for insight. Thank you all.

Your introduction seems to make me think that this client was a difficult bunch that the previous analyst staffed on it either quit or got moved and you were put in place. Since you have a senior consultant working with you, I'd collaborate more firmly and provide transparency to explore opportunities on how to succeed with this client.

The client seems difficult and if you did nothing wrong/always replied in a professional manner, I wouldn't worry too much. Speak to your MD in a calm way, take any criticism and perhaps explain your side without getting defensive. Once you have explained it I would tell your MD that you'll make sure to notify him on developments with regards to this or future cases of difficult clients so he gets your side of the story immediately and can step in to help if the client is being too much of a dick.
