Foros Group: pay and other information?
Take a look at their team and recent transactions, and tell me they aren't the next elite boutique.
What are they paying these Ivy League juniors over there to get them out of top-tier BBs?

Not saying they're not great or growing or what have you but two things: a) Looking at their analysts' backgrounds, they look great (better than mine was) but not that different from most high-end boutiques: a bunch of Ivy-leaguers with a grab bag of finance and non-financeinternships, some more impressive than others.
b) Their client list is CLASSIC boutique word-smithing. Looking at the first three transactions they list, two (RX and IDC) trumpet "Sole-Advisor" when really they were a advisor to a board committee and took home a smaller fee than the bulge-bracket bank that was the company's "true" financial advisor (though their fee forRXwas pretty impressive). and the third (Medco) their fee wasn't disclosed (not because it was really big).
Two very good points, but I haven't seen many 18-man shops that look anything like this. Maybe I need to get out more.
They are recruiting at my b-school for the associate role. Pretty selective. From talking to my friend who has a final round interview there, they are only going tohire 1MBAnationwide.

i know one of the guys atForos. he says the hours are brutal, but their senior bankers are rainmakers. great experience for the monkeys at the bottom.
What really confuses me is their ability to do both M&A and public equity raises (see Oclaro follow-on). I thought it was an M&A boutique, but apparently not.

Founder just left forMacquarieTMET group....
yeah this place hasn't done a legit M&A deal in almost a year and femi left forMacquarie. can't be good for business there.
They seem to have done a couple of massive deals recently. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts onForos? I haven't heard much about them, but the bios on their site look very respectable. Are they an M&A advisory shop? What would the entry level associate experience there be like?
