Moto X

Any techies here follow the release of Motorolas new Android phone?

I was really hoping to see this released for $300 off contract, like Google did with the Nexus 4. I am a little dissapointed with the $199 on contract price but I am not sure you can really expect a phone made in the US to be that cheap.

I do love the customization aspect. I have been wanting phones to be more like buying a laptop. You can chose all aspects of the phone and truly make it yours. Specs, colors etc. Though with the Moto X you cannot customize the internal specs you are able to chose different color schemes, backgrounds, messages etc. A nice move away from the same old boring white and black phones.

Any thoughts? Think Moto has a chance to steal some of the spotlight from Samsung?

I think the Moto will eat a decent bit at Samsung (assuming usability is good, seems like it will be). I also think it'll help contribute to the downfall of the iPhone. Apple really needs to step it up. They're lucky they built a strong brand following but that's only going to last for so long.

Definitely excited to play with this phone, though.
