What are some of the happiest moments of your life?

I've been feeling a little blue lately and as a way to make myself feel better I've been trying to focus on the things that make me the happiest, the moments that have been pure bliss, and are experiences l'll always cherish.

One of the moments/experiences I appreciate the most in my life when I feel the most free and happy and relaxed is summer late night drives down empty highways flooring the gas pedal with all the windows down and my favourite music on max volume.

If I could do anything all day, it would be race car driving for sure - that would genuinely make me happy every day.

What are some of the things/moments/experiences that make you happiest?

in before answers like "getting myFToffer", "having the weekend off", "bonus day" lol.

任何时候我毙了,我只是sloppily tellin the boys how much they mean to me

Whenever I'm with my parents and the time I spent with my nonna towards the end of her ride

First date with a girl I really crushed on way back senior year of high school was pretty amazing

Italy winning 2006 world cup, Red Sox winning 2004 and 2013 world series, Patriots 28-3 (nuff said) and the interception

The pride I felt as part of my senior year high school football team after we were knocked out of the playoffs by the eventual champ--we were the only team all year to give em a fight. Some of us were literally crying after the game because this was our last chance to be champions, but I remember the coaches came into the locker room and just started clapping almost as if we won, and soon we were all clapping and cheering and doing our chants. It was just such a uniquely beautiful moment where we were all proud of how far we came

I know bro. Great year, great hype, so cool to see that win for Boston post-marathon bombing, "this is our fucking city", fear the beard. Damn it was just such a special season. I remember Papi's grand slam against the Tigers so well. I feel like everyone on earth knew that was the only outcome for that AB.

My senior year we had a new baseball coach come in. He ran us in the rain, cold, holidays, every single day twice a day for hours. Everyone puked multiple times throughout, I didn't realize it at the time but it was just a process of struggle to bring us all together. He said "he was not preparing us for a baseball game, but he was preparing us for the day our wife cheats on us, parents die, worst days of our life". Barely anybody on the team went on the same path, but we all have a special connection. I would seriously pay a lot of money to go through it again.

Can you explain more about what was good about the experience and how it brought you and your team closer together? It just doesn't sound like it was an enjoyable experience.

The year was 2018. I got an offer fromMoelisDubai. I quickly learned to love the UAE - the skyscrapers, the cars, the beaches. But I had a problem - I was a homosexual in a city where it was illegal. But I was blessed with a miracle - somehow, thePowerPoint program thatI used 27 hours a day turned me straight. With every logo I aligned, I felt my attraction to women increase. I was cured! I converted to Sunni Islam. The happiest day of my life was when I got married to a beautiful Muslim women. Allah has blessed me greatly.

Similar to you, OP, driving around or lounging solo listening to songs that remind me of how great the people in my life are and how lucky I am to feel as optimistic about my future as I do.

Also, what [Nightman Cometh] said about getting sloshed with the gang and expressing/feeling the love. Even better when it's day-ones in other cities that I don't get to see regularly butmaintain bondswith.

  1. 早上在我辞了分析师的工作。走你t of my bedroom ready to start the day and realized I didn't have to do anything. No bullshit emails, no pointless dd calls, no more staying up until the wee hours of the morning - nothing. I made myself some breakfast and then hopped on my motorcycle went for a ride. Pure bliss to feel the summer morning air without a care in the world.
  1. The day I left for study abroad in college. I had never traveled before and the feeling of excitement and adventure was crazy as I was waiting in the airport and taking my flights. I don't think I'll ever get a feeling of anticipation like that again.
  1. Senior year of high school in a regional championship game for my club soccer team. For a good chunk of the season I played like shit and had severe performance anxiety. Would literally throw up before games I'd get so nervous. I thought the best way to remedy this was to out work everyone else, so I was super diligent about practicing and working out several hours every day. I followed that plan for months, and I slowly got better and gained confidence. In this championship game I mentioned before, I scored an absolute ripper from the top corner of the 18 to tie the game. I still remember the play, how it felt, how the crowd sounded, what my buddies said. Pure electricity - unreal feeling that I'll feel lucky if I ever experience again.. We ended up winning the game and it was such a satisfying moment. Sometimes hard work and grinding doesn't always pay off, but in this case it did. After so many disappointing car rides home, I finally had one where I was happy. Will never forget it

Some of my happiest moments were just days spent with friends. Didn't really matter what we were doing. And also feel really lucky to have close knit friend group that has grown a little over the years but it's still the same bunch of guys. Some who I've known since the first grade.

every friday night and saturday where no one emails me to do work

working from home now so nights when i'm chill enough that i can smoke a cigar with my dad on the balcony and fully thump a bottle of whisky

on a serious note:

one point that really sticks out off the top of my head (there are others but somehow this is the one that hits): i'm from singapore, where there's mandatory military national service of about 2 years. i felt real happiness when we threw our caps at the end of our graduation parade

I missed a lot of friends' weddings, and I wish I hadn't. My wedding was a really happy day. Lots of friends and family all together in this expensive party (the generous wedding gifts more than paid for the event). The happiest moment was right after the wedding when everything was done, thinking it was a great day, and before going to bed with the most beautiful woman at the party. Note: the next day you're a bit sad because you were an absolute rock star the day and week before.

Pure gratitude when you wake up in the early morning with your wife and kids still asleep and thinking we are literally on a spaceship called Earth traveling a million miles an hour (to who knows where) and within arms length are the most important souls to me in the whole universe. Wish life could just slow down a bit.

Pure bliss is when you're a sports fan and your team pulled off a miracle. Got to experience that rushing the field after Hawaii came from behind to beat Univ of Washington to go undefeated in the regular season in 2007 (college football). I'd say, put a stake in the ground and tether yourself to causes/people you believe in. Support it. Be a part of it. Broadens your exposure to happy moments when you share success with others.

Better days are ahead.

Dude I generally like sports but have never had a "team" since I never lived in once place for very long. You're really making me think about following a team seriously. I never thought about it that way.

I'm a Facebook group admin for a sports fan page (4K+ members globally). I've observed that getting mentally invested in a team, you get to meet other similarly passionate fans, interact with them frequently thanks to social media, and have games to look forward to. I attend one or two road games in a different city each year and I really look forward to the experiences.

Another thing I think would be really cool is to follow your favorite singer or band to their concert in other US city or international city. You get to mix a great vacation with this totally cool experience with the concert. Life is good!

1) I was with a girl for almost 6 years. I had been wanting to break it off for at least 4 of them, if not more, but I was paralyzed by the thought of change in my life, so I stayed through it. From junior year of high school to a few weeks after graduating college. Had a good friend tell me they saw my girl on a date with another guy while I was back home with family so I ended it right there. That wasn't even a feeling of happiness - I was still so scared of change. But then a few months later, my now current girlfriend dm'ed me on IG, and that day really brought me the peace and happiness I was looking for.

2) Winning my school's first ever basketball championship. They were always dogshit, but when I moved there (was only there for a year) we fucking killed it and I won offensive player of the year for the team. Great feeling cutting down that net.

3)另一个篮球锦标赛的故事,但我played for a small league and was absolutely destroying it (was 13 at the time but had already been 6'1). Last game of the season before playoffs some kid literally kicked my leg as I went for a lay-up and I could barely walk on it. That was our only loss that season. Playoffs were the next week, doctor said not to walk on it for 2 weeks I said fuck that we're winning this shit. I dropped 31pts in the semis and 20pts in the finals where we won by 2 (my dad ran on the sideline screaming to make the other team miss a halfcourt shot lmfaooo). That win, knowing I was a top producer for the team just felt so amazing.

I remember some nice moments but would like to share a recent one which is for some may sound childish or not a big deal however I will remember it for a long time.

When I was a kid, I was an over-idealist person. I had a pure and soft maybe somehow naive belief that you can easily get everything you want. Life will never decline your wants. But after going through tough times I understood that life is not that straightforward and sometimes you just need to fight to get something you want.

This year I was taking one course in university in which we had ~170 people and most if not all were struggling with the class. I was paying max attention to classes which was not easy during online classes because of COVID. I did well on some assignments too. But in the midterm exam which was a big part of the overall grade I just failed and scored low. Just before the exam I learned that the health condition of my grandfather was worsening. After grades revealed for midterm I was shocked for scoring low. People started to say "We were thinking that you would score 100" etc. After several days my grandfather passed away. He was always supporting studying, doing well academically. When I called him last time before he passed as usually he said "study hard, it is important, and get that scholarship". Now with low score from midterm and these words, the level of stress was enormous. And because of low grade I was losing the scholarship which I planned to give my little brother for his college tuition fees.

After that, I nearly spent all 2 months for that subject will little (3-4 hours) sleep.

I had only had one chance to get a scholarship; to get 100 from final exam. After all that hard study, just before the exam which was online in home environment because of COVID, the app in which we were writing the exam crushed. With constant lags, crashes I wrote the 1h 30 min exam in 30 min because of crashes. I just can't how angry + stressful I was at that time. My whole left eye because of anger and stress turned bloody red.

I gave myself a word to score 100 and these events happened. Never in my life I was so determined and angry.

When I learned that I got 100 from that exam (best result from ~170 students) which enabled me to finish the semester with 4.0 GPA which enabled to get scholarship and to keep a word which I gave to my grandfather, the level of happiness was unmatchable.

I dropped acid with my current girlfriend last summer. We spent the whole day in her front yard and at the beach just talking. We talked for about 20 hours about life and other interesting things. She's a quantum physicist so we talked a lot about what she was working on as well as some astronomy. Everything felt pretty inconsequential compared to sharing the moment of that day with her. It felt like our minds were entirely connected and there's still a ton of residual positivity even months after. It was just the most wonderful and interesting day, couldn't beat it.

More like a happy month but I had bad spinal stenosis + degenerative disc disease from 17 to my early twenties and most of my symptoms magically vanished over the course of 1 - 4 weeks. No idea how - just really really lucky.

For reference, the pain was so bad I could barely walk sometimes unless I took a ton of anti-inflammatories, pain killers, and things like gabapentin. The neurologists I had spoken with basically told me I was fucked too. The drugs I ahd to take have their own side effects of course, so it was either try to function with excruciating chronic pain or take the above and deal with the associated sometimes worse side effects. Thankfully, I was able to stop taking them all within a month because the chronic pain caused by those two spinal issues just went away.

I still can't do high impact things like running or squats but I can workout on a regular basis and lift relatively heavy without triggering my symptoms. Sounds dumb to be excited given I'm technically still disabled to some extent but being able to function 90%+ pain free without any risky back surgery is a freebie I'll take.

Some of the happiest moments are from my childhood. It's cliché but you truly don't know how good you have it as a kid. This is coming from someone whose family was very low income. But I still loved my childhood and didn't let lack of money ruin it. I had everything I needed in my brain: creativity, imagination, no context of failure whatsoever. I could do or be whatever I wanted and if I lacked anything, I didn't let physical limitations stop me. Those were golden years and helped shaped me into the man I am today.
