How often do you have to wear a tie? Incoming analyst currently buying dress shirts

I have a thick neck... I'm having trouble finding dress shirts that fit for both my neck and body. I'm thinking of just keeping a set of dress shirts for no tie and a set of dress shirts for when I have to wear a tie and a suit. Should I keep looking?

Haven't worn a tie since before the pandemic tbh, wear jeans and trainers around the office and suit (no tie) for client meetings. There's literally no need and no client is wearing a tie either.

Director in REPEhere, honestly haven't worn a tie to the office in ages (3 years++), I only wear them for fundraiser or other classier events..

You can literally walk into a Macy's or tailor and ask to get your dress shirts measurements for free and just buy according to those, it takes less than 2 mins. I personally prefer Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, they've yet to disappoint me. Plus their 4 for 200 deal is too sweet.

Okay here is my best advice. Go buy dress shirts that you like. I agree with [Sonic the hedge fund manager] , Charles Tyrwhitt is probably the best bang for buck dress shirt that still looks professional.

I would buy 1 very professional nice tie in a timeless pattern. Like literally a Hermes in a classic stripe or something. Then just keep it in near mint condition for when you need to wear a tie (Interviews, Meetings, Dinners, etc.) Most likely if you take good care of a high quality product you will be able to have it until you don't need to wear a tie ever again. Also a nice tie just makes you feel more confident.

Get custom shit, spend like 5 grand and have badass professional clothes for the next decade. I feel it is strongly worth it because if done right and custom, you look super sharp and will be able to use the stuff for a very long time. You got a signing bonus, use it for that-you are probably done growing and even if you gain weight, custom shit should hold pretty well.
