Best language (Chinese/French/German) for IB/possibly law in London?
IB/Law in London for at least 3-4 years before going into grad school in the US (possiblydoing anMBA,但更有可能是JD)。我不是100%确定我是否从事职业IBor Law; I'm still browsing posts on this forum and trying to make an informed decision. With that said...
Some background: I am a nineteen year old foreign passport holder, resident outside the UK/USA (I do not possess a European/UK/US passport).
Given the above information and considering the fact that I want to maximize my chances of getting into a goodIB/Law position (GS/JP/MS/BAMLor KE, White and Case etc.) after uni, what language should I prioritize learning - Chinese, French or German? I understand that French is easier to learn while China possibly has greater influence due to its economy which would lead me to study Chinese; however, I feel if I'm going to be working in London, a European language would help me much more so than an Asian one, so I feel I should first study French and then German (or do both simultaneously). Also, would learning another language help me at all during recruitment atIBs/Law firms?
Thank you for making it this far. I would sincerely appreciate any advice!

Well it's a bit sad to learn a language due to its "influence" only. Pick one you feel like you have a special link to. If you are to work in Europe, both French and German will be more useful than Chinese.
Been on Asian deals, as a Frenchman (speaking German too), and dealt with C-class in English without any problem.
