在中东获得咨询实习有多困难?

Slightly unconventional background. I study Engineering and Law (combined degree) at UNSW (University of New South Wales). One of the best universities in Australia, well regarded in Asia (apparently) but no where near as much as Oxbridge and the Ivies, obviously.

I have aVCInternship, Brand-name Engineering Internship and currently work at a startup (run by MBBers) doing work that is "identical to consulting work" (data analysis and a lot of excel modelling). Tons of good extra-circulars, leadership experience in societies etc.

MBBpreferable, but any consulting internship would be valuable. Looking for the experience to help make me more competitive come Australian internship rounds. There doesn't seem to be as much information about the middle-east consulting landscape and how competitive it is relative to other places.

Questions:
1) How much weight is given to the school you attended?
2) What about GPA requirements? Are they generally the same internationally or is the bar raised slightly lower? (I have just slightly below a distinction WAM...i don't know how to convert that to a US GPA or if that's even possible)
3)假设我确实在MBBor any consulting firm, will the middle-east office hinder my competitiveness? (eg. suppose i interned at BCG Dubai, is there a perception is that it's a "lazy office", or "they aren't as hard-working over there" or "couldn't get intoMBBat home" and would that affect future applications?)
4) Open Question: Generally, how competitive is it relative to Australia or other offices?

Any further info that you think would be valuable to answer my question is appreciated. Did a quick search but not thorough, so apologies if this was answered before.

It's hard to make a good comparison and assess how competitive i am given that i'm in Australia. GPA and the overall standards of competitiveness re experienced or competitiveness are different to the US or UK given that internships are typically done in your penultimate year here.
