Only MDs and those from good families will know what they are. 90% of Analysts/ Associates/ VPs (who came from normal/middle-class families) have no idea what Loro Piana and Brunello Cuccinelli are. To them, Ferragamo shoes are probably considered some marker/ benchmark for "quality" shoes.
Wouldn't wear them as an Intern/ Analyst as an MD/ senior employee seeing you wear them may make them think you're spoilt/ still living off parent's money (in the same way rocking up in a Patek would).
That said, I think Open Walks are personally very tasteful and if you're an assoc+ and your company dress code is casual enough to permit it, go for it.
Man a few days ago I saw a friend rocking these to her office and only needing to switch up her suit pants for jeans and realised how versatile they were. Really comfy too. And the shape looks really professional if your suit is fitted correctly with good drape. Waiting for Loro to drop that Vibram soled Open Walks so it looks more professional with darker sole. Oh by the way, the open walks charm or slip ons. Holy shit they are beautiful.
Not to revive an old thread, but think you can personalize in their store. They have a green / olive-looking heavy duty sole for the winter you may wanna look into!
I legitimately thought you were asking how someone walking around the office casually chatting up to people would be perceived. I was going to say you need to at least be at the VP but ideally MD level to do this without it being cringe.
Oh we were talking about the shoe. The second sentence in your comment was about the shoe too am I right? If yes then yeah I thought so too. Open Walks price tag are too much of a statement. But hell of an investment tho. When it breaks they fix and resole for you for free. And they last a long time. And is really easy to clean! Only if the price tag was more justifiable so you don't look like a flexer.
The only men I know that think its cool to wear 1k sneakers from loro piana are dudes either super short, not handsome, and generally in need of coping some way by wearing things like this.
Chad will wear sweat pants and tube socks, and Nike sandals and still get more attention than you.
Who hurt you?
In general, suede in the office is a tough look. But ultimately, folks don't really care what analysts wear. The 'senior judgement factor' is way overblown on this forum.
I rock suede loafers in my office but we have senior people who wear tennis shoes and jeans. I'd say I dress on the more formal side compared to the office (business casual, emphasis on casual)
