Am I fucked?

Hi,

I hope this post finds you well. Will try to keep it short & sweet.

Freshman at non-target. Extreme passion for public capital markets. Been equities and equity derivs for nearly 6 years, & during that time spending atleast 20 hours a week conducting DD, actively trade, researching, or reading shit posts on here. Have been able togenerate alpha(我知道这是无用的信息对于招聘过程s, but figured I'd leave it in). Very outgoing/personable, and have a very good network.

I'm interested in working close to the capital markets, and have taken a interest in a pure trading role, s&t, orhf.

The problem arises at the fact that I have little interest in mathematics/statistics/cs, which I know is a massive pre-requisite for all pure trading roles, mosthfs, and most s&t desks.

Should I just stop being a bitch and take a minor in stats, even though I don't enjoy it and it will def bring my grade down? Can I land a pure trading role with no stem/csbackground? What about s&t? What careers would you recommend for someone with an immense passion for capital markets, that doesn't require extensivecs/stem knowledge?

First: Wrong Forum, S&T/HFwill bebetter

But as far as Stats go - think about it like this, if you're really interested in public markets: The entire world is analyzing companies through the traditional means. What now generates alpha is the ability to see things no one else sees. If you think statistics will give you the edge you want go for it. While your GPA matters, it only matters to a certain extent. 3.6 vs 3.9 is big, yeah, but I know people at my previousSAwho would always say they'd rather take a 3.6 over a 4.0 because of their personality. The weakest link would become the fact that 3.6 might make it harder for you to get interviews. Network your ass off.

As for if you hate Statistics: Then don't fucking do it?? Dude its your life, find something else that can help you find an edge. Shit man I took a poli sci minor so I could trade treasury bonds and it worked like a charm.

I posted in this forum so it'd get more traction.

I really appreciate your insight. It'd be unfair to say I hate statistics, since I've never taken any formal academia on it. I think it'll be in my best interest to take a couple classes in it, and if it's bearable I'll minor in it.

Tx again

go into the sales side of S&T, you can't run away from the math like crazy, but your personality is what is going to get you successful there. I am doing the same thing this summer. Stick to what you are good at, because it will most likely make you most happy.

I wouldn't waste my time on a minor, spend your time networking instead.
