Connected ??
So I was at a coffee shop and overheard two people talking about deals. I looked back and they looked to be around my age so I assumed they were analyst at a bank like me or maybe analyst for aPEfirm nearby based on the conversation. When I walked by them to order another drink I interrupted there conversation to ask what they did and where they were an analyst at..... Turns out the guy I asked that responded was not an analyst he was a partner at aPEfirm. Felt very awkward after the " well actually I am a partner at ___ response."
He asked how to contact me and sent me a text though. Is this good or bad? not sure if he did that because he actually wanted to connect or just because he wanted me to go away.

He wanted you to go away but this is a chance to play your cards right and capitalize on the connection if you can pull off not being uncouth

Nah man idk maybe that's modern thinking you hear all these stories of people hustling their way in back in the day. If it's some sharp kid who's fundamentally nice I'd be cool with it
