2 year Corporate FMP exit opps??
I have been in love withWSOsince I first read it coz people are so smart and no bullshxt. Would like to share my experience with one of well-known corporate program in Asia and desperately look for a way-out. Hope to get some directions.
Joined a global talent program in 2008 after postgraduate (master in accounting and international business from Sydney, best one in Oz, weaker than those target ones in US/UK). Three rotations within this megaFI, withAMand Insurance. For complicated reasons, chose the financial management track, basically worked three rations within Finance& control ( bang!!) inHKand Australia. Above average salary, accommodation and good allowance, nice people. Exposure and networking was fantastic. However,constant change of management and corporate politics make network no more than " a chit chat or farewell". It is also true that no matter whom you network with, at the end of day you will need to do the job and get trained by your own managers. I don't believe the luxury offsite training (although we had a lot). To me, day-to-day training makes more sense than luxuries offsite training. I have seen many managers being very narrow-minded or get used to bluff all day long at back office. Put in this way, job satisfaction is not what you do but who you are doing together with.
Can't agree more a wise guy here described accounting job as " pointless, dumb, boring, mind-numbing, life-sucking and soul-destroying" but does it job itself suck or people sucks? or both?
I am now reaching 4th year with this European megaFIturning age of 29. Currently employed byAMarm inHKand it is being sold(bang!!)
Thinking of options to reset career by working in professional firms. Look forward to hearing your advice/experience!

personally i always hated accounting and its the bane of my existence :P i see you like your bangs. why not just go b school right now? do you wanna go back to oz or stay in the US or what?
I stuck inHK. Will definitely go to the States for B -schools rather than oz.:P
