I went from two years in consulting toPE, so I'm not the most qualified person to make a judgement here - but do those third year figures seem accurate? I had no idea there was a pay gap of this magnitude between "market" comp inIBvs.PEfor candidates with the same tenure (i.e., 3rd yearIBanalyst vs. 1st yearPEassociate). Unless I've been mislead by ex-bankers in my current associate class, I thought that third year comp was closer to $200K at the topBBfirms (perhaps performance determines some of this).

the numbers you see are just bonus - total comp for third years will be around $230-250K for top tier
